Ambro partners with Antumo to expand auto ID infrastructure

The Ambro Group, which includes Ambro Logistics and Ambro Express, offers full logistics services from international transportation, contract logistics to courier services. It has been operating on the market for 30 years and currently has more than 100 trucks in its fleet and operates nearly 30,000 square meters of warehouse space. Initially, the organization provided services in Poland, and now also operates in Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Ireland, Germany and the United Kingdom.

The company's dynamic growth is the result of responsible management including investment in the company's informatization. The company is systematically expanding its hardware infrastructure to handle accepted orders more and more efficiently.

The Ambro Group carries out more than one million deliveries and warehouse operations annually. "At the heart" of these processes are IT systems, but their precise execution is made possible by mobile terminals. The managers of Ambro Logistics are aware of the importance of choosing this type of equipment, so they decided to cooperate with Antumo, which provides comprehensive services in the field of Auto ID equipment.

- We have been using mobile terminals in the company for many years. Couriers and warehouse workers use them in their daily work. However, the equipment we were using no longer met our needs. The collectors had an unreadable and too small display, lacked touch screens, and the buttons were inconvenient to use. On top of that, they did not have an Android system, which made it difficult to integrate with internal IT systems and exchange data," describe Ambro Group's IT staff.

Features of M3 Mobile SL20 allow use in demanding conditions

Before choosing, it's worth testing

.

Antumo employees conducted an analysis of the company's needs and expectations, and based on the information gathered, prepared an offer of several models of mobile terminals from various manufacturers. A number of parameters of the devices were important to the employees of both Ambro Express and Ambro Logistics, including the Android operating system, support for Wi-Fi and LTE data transmission, the amount of RAM to ensure smooth integration with applications and systems running at the company, and resistance to physical damage. The price/quality ratio was also important.

- We had the opportunity to test the devices proposed by Antumo, which streamlined the process of choosing a model and made our decision easier, the group's IT staff emphasized.

Ambro Group managers ultimately chose the M3 Mobile SL20 data collector.

Antumo MDM makes it easy to manage corporate devices.

The terminals were to be used by about 400 people, including drivers and carriers who provide transportation and courier services throughout Europe, as well as warehousemen working at Ambro Logistics Park. This warehouse and logistics center, which is located in the town of Przykona in the county of Turek, has 28,000 m2.

- The scale of Ambro Group's business and the territorial scope of its operations requires constant optimization of the company's processes and the use of IT solutions that address the challenges the company faces. That's why we suggested to the company's managers that the project should also implement an MDM-class mobile device management system. We proposed the Antumo MDM program," says Marcin Kostrzewa, head of the commercial department at Antumo.

Antumo MDM is a system developed by Antumo engineers. The program makes it easy to deploy, configure and manage all enterprise-class devices in an organization. Within the system, you can create user profiles, manage restrictions and set security policies.

- In retrospect, the implementation of this system was an important achievement. On the one hand, it allowed us to automate terminal configuration management, and on the other hand, it enabled our helpdesk to assist employees more efficiently. In addition, we have an option to record the location of devices - notes Milosz Szczeszak, Network Manager at Ambro Express.

Service contract prevents downtime and order delays

Role of service for the logistics industry

.

Ambro Express is constantly expanding its operations and launching new services. Responding to market demand, they have introduced home delivery for non-standard and bulky shipments in Poland, as well as to Austria and the Czech Republic. Such deliveries are particularly popular in the furniture sector, and they are constantly adapting their services to this industry.

-We are handling more and more orders, so we need to have a guarantee of continuity in the company's processes. We cannot afford the slightest downtime due to equipment failure. When purchasing more terminals from Antumo, we decided to expand the scope of our cooperation and purchased the service of the equipment. If any of the equipment is damaged, even accidentally, it is repaired at the express rate of three days. Such a service gives us a sense of security and secures the continuity of the company's operations," stresses an employee of the Ambro Express operations department.

The Ambro Group's cooperation with Antumo has been in place since 2021 and has been expanding steadily. Initially it included the delivery of 250 terminals and the implementation of the Antumo MDM system, and now the company already has 450 collectors in operation with a built-in mobile device management application and a service guarantee.
