Lower Silesian Railway implements OSDM standard in cooperation with Ambro
Lower Silesian Railways was the first carrier in Poland to implement the international OSDM (Open Sales and Distribution Model) standard - created by the International Union of Railways (UIC) as an open, universal ticket sales and distribution model. The OSDM system provides a uniform way of exchanging data between rail and bus carriers, allowing passengers to purchase a single ticket covering travel on different modes of transport - including with different operators.
- With OSDM, we can independently manage our offerings, quickly publish changes and integrate with partners in a standardized way. This increases flexibility and allows us to respond to changing market needs says Bartosz Jungiewicz, commercial director of the Lower Silesian Railway.

OSDM integrates carrier offerings
Multichannel sales model
.The project, carried out in cooperation with Antumo, enabled the implementation of a universal API supporting, among other things, cross-border sales, combined offers (rail + bus), limiting available seats or selling multiple tickets in a single order. Thanks to a central 2D code system (UIC-compliant) and uniform fare logic, each sales channel - both internal and external - receives a consistent fare-schedule response.
The production implementation of OSDM has been implemented in the KD Partner stationary channel and in the kolejedolnoslaskie.pl online store. Further integrations are underway - including with the Koleo and Bilkom platforms, which will enable wide distribution of KD's offerings outside its own channels as well.
The OSDM is also in the process of being implemented.
- OSDM gives great independence to the carrier, but at the same time allows full compatibility with other systems, including foreign ones. This is the future of digital ticketing," stresses Kamil Serwus, a member of Antumo's board of directors. - Our goal was to implement a solution that is flexible, scalable and compliant with European standards, which was achieved through close cooperation with the Lower Silesian carrier.
The basis for adapting the Lower Silesian Railway's IT system to the OSDM standard was the complex IT ecosystem that the company has been using for several years. It was developed in cooperation with Antumo, as part of a broader project carried out for the rail carrier by Axians, and includes, among other things, a ticket sales and control system, a fare module and a UIC-compliant 2D code center.
Transaction in the OSDM model consists of standardized stages: connection search, offer selection, application of concessions, prebooking, payment and ticket collection. The whole process is based on a uniform data format, which greatly simplifies the integration of new partners.

Benefits of implementing OSDM
.OSDM not only streamlines internal processes, but provides real business benefits - it reduces implementation time, lowers system maintenance costs, and most importantly improves the experience of the passenger, who can buy a single ticket for the entire trip - regardless of the number of transfers, carriers or means of transportation.
With this implementation, the Lower Silesian Railways is setting the stage for the entire rail sector in Poland, confirming that investment in open technology standards is a step towards sustainable and intelligent public transportation.
