Antumo LOCKER CABINET - FAQ part. 3
Antumo LOCKER CABINET is designed to eliminate the problems of unauthorized downloads of equipment and provide full control over who uses the devices and when. In companies where employees share mobile terminals, security and proper access management are key; any unauthorized downloads, lost equipment or lack of clarity in usage history should be automatically logged and visible to the administrator.
In this article, we discuss how Antumo's locker cabinet provides security and prevents unauthorized retrieval of equipment.
Employee card identification
.Every retrieval and return of equipment begins with user login. The cabinet supports the HID CLASS SE standard, this protects identity verification against misuse and works with company access cards.
Thanks to this:
- only authorized employees can download the device,
- the system always knows who performed the operation,
- each operation is associated with a specific card and user.
Roles and zones - access for authorized users only
.The system distinguishes between three levels of authorization:employee, leader and administrator. Each role has different capabilities, including opening individual lockers, removing damaged devices, or managing RFID tag configuration.
Each role has different capabilities, including opening individual lockers, removing damaged devices, or managing RFID tag configuration.
Additionally, the administrator can create zones within one or multiple cabinets, assigning specific devices to only selected teams. If an employee is not assigned to a zone, the locker remains locked. This eliminates situations in which an employee retrieves equipment not intended for his department or shift.
One authentication = one open cache
.One card bounce always opens only one cache. It's a consciously designed security feature that:
- prevent multiple devices from being downloaded at once,
- protects against carrying more equipment,
- forces full transparency of operations.
Only an administrator who has full privileges can open more caches for service or technical review.
Blocking of damaged equipment
.The locker recognizes equipment reported as defective. If an employee marks a defect on the touch screen, the equipment is taken out of circulation and invisible to subsequent users.
According to specifications:
- each report is forwarded to the MDM, he said.
- the device goes to "defect" status, he said.
- a leader or administrator can pick up the terminal without an employee present, he said.
- the system issues only operational and ready-to-work devices, he said.
This is an important safeguard against taking equipment that could cause downtime during a shift.
Recording of events - full history of downloads and alarms
.The admin panel in the MDM system records all operations, including:
- who downloaded the equipment,
- at what time,
- from which locker,
- when it was returned,
- whether a defect was reported,
- whether the user attempted to retrieve the equipment without authorization.
Reports also include the equipment's ID, inventory number and failure history, making it much easier to audit and control equipment circulation.
Detection and blocking of unauthorized download attempts
.This is one of the key security features. If an unauthorized person tries to download a device from another zone, for example, without the right role or with the wrong card then the system:
- does not open the locker,
- registers the event as an unauthorized download attempt,
- sends information to the admin panel,
- (optionally) can generate an alert to the IT department or shift leader.
Such attempts are visible in the event history and described in the MDM panel's documentation as part of the monitoring of current cabinet usage.
This allows the administrator to immediately see who tried to retrieve equipment without authorization and when - an important element of operational security.
Physical security features that support access control
.Antumo LOCKER CABINET also employs a set of hardware security features:
- electromagnetic locks,
- occupancy sensors in each locker,
- LEDs to indicate the status of the locker,
- mounting to wall or ground,
This eliminates the risk of accidental damage to equipment and unauthorized manipulation of caches.
Safety at every stage of work
.Antumo LOCKER CABINET secures equipment on several levels simultaneously:
- controls access to equipment through RFID and user roles,
- opens only one locker at a time,
- automatically blocks defective terminals,
- records all operations and attempts at unauthorized downloads,
- gives the administrator a full view of device traffic and event history.
Such a solution that reduces the risk of loss, improves security and provides full transparency of equipment use in the company.
