In the first part of our Q&A series, we introduced the modules, the dimensions of the lockers and the types of equipment that can be stored in them. This time we focus on the process of using the Antumo LOCKER CABINET itself: picking up and taking down equipment and reporting defects.
How can employees retrieve and pass equipment?
The operation of the locker cabinet is quick and intuitive. An employee logs into the system by applying his employee card or RFID badge. The locker automatically assigns him a device ready for use and opens the corresponding locker. The entire process takes just a few seconds.
When the device is returned, it is put back in the assigned locker, where the system registers it as returned. During the retrieval or return stage, the user can also report a possible malfunction directly on the touchscreen.
Can employees report defects?
Yes. Antumo's smart locker allows employees to report defects directly when returning or retrieving equipment - from the touchscreen. Simply select the appropriate problem type from a list configured by the administrator. The notification goes automatically to the MDM system, so that the IT department or service department immediately receives information about the failure. This allows you to quickly take faulty equipment out of circulation and reduce downtime.

Is it possible to open two lockers with one card bounce?
No - one card authentication opens only one cache. This is a deliberate security feature that prevents uncontrolled retrieval of multiple devices at once and increases the security of equipment circulation. The ability to open multiple caches at the same time exists only from the administrator account and requires appropriate permissions.
If an employee has several devices assigned or needs equipment from another zone, the login process repeats separately for each cache.
